Random golf rules.. How many breakfast balls can I have?

Random golf rules.. How many breakfast balls can I have?

We all have our own random unique golf rules when we play with our friends. However, how much is too much of a good thing? If you have a breakfast ball is your score legit? How short is a gimme putt below we will give a general guideline of how to follow golf's wide range of ‘made up’ rules. Breakfast Balls You could ask 100 golfers what their rules are for breakfast balls and you'd likely get 100 different responses with their own unique position on why they are for or against breakfast balls. To simplify and break it down two of the most common responses to the question include; Breakfast ball off the first tee box is okay. Essentially you abandon the round, and start a new round. Range before = no breakfast balls. No range = 1 breakfast ball. We feel that both of these are valid responses to the question. It ultimately depends on the people you are playing with and the nature of the game. This is probably one of the more merky rules, a general rule of thumb is to establish an understanding with your opponents prior to teeing off. How short is a gimme putt? A gimme putt is typically considered any putt within about 2 to 3 feet from the hole, but it’s really up to the group’s discretion. Some golfers are more generous and give gimme putts from further out, while others stick strictly to “inside the leather,” meaning the ball has to be within the length of the putter grip when laid on the ground. The Snowman Rule When you’re so far beyond saving a hole (and you’re about to hit your 8th shot), players sometimes invoke the “snowman” rule. Just write down an 8, call it a day, and move on. Your pride will thank you. Foot Wedge For those moments when you mysteriously find yourself in the rough (again), the "foot wedge" rule is the art of discreetly kicking your ball to a better spot while no one's looking. It's golf’s quiet rebellion. We can preach about what rules you should and shouldn't follow, but at the end of the day are you really going to listen, when you're about to go on the back 9 and you're edging closer to 100? Take that extra breakfast ball.

Can You Really Blame Your Clubs?

Can You Really Blame Your Clubs?

They say a good craftsman never blames his tools, but why does it seem like buying a brand new driver will fix my swing? Whilst it is true that through modern technology, a new driver will likely help you get a bit of added distance. However, on average according to a 2024 study from Today's Golfer it was found that on average six yards is what a new driver can add to your distance, with forgivenesses improving depending on the model of club. In 2018, Adam Scott turned up to the Players Championship with an eight year old driver. Would you believe that he hit 14 fairways in the first round, and averaged 300 yards off the tee. So this again begs the question does newer necessarily mean better? If you are struggling with your game, working on improving your swing is likely to be the better investment. One way to do this is through lessons, a good instructor can help you develop a solid foundation and address fundamental issues. This will likely lead to gradual improvement, and reducing slicing, or drawing your shots. By acquiring lessons, you are also able to get customised and personalised advice adapted to your swing to help improve. So the next time that you think about getting a new club after your performance dips, think twice. Think of your clubs like a guitar. Bad equipment in good hands can still make good music. A good guitar in bad hands still is bad music.

Kirkland Signature Golf Ball is Dead!!! RIP

Kirkland Signature Golf Ball is Dead!!! RIP

According to our friends at MyGolfSpy, the guru's of breaking any golf product related news the incredibly popular Costco Kirkland Signature ball is done!!! RIP Kirkland Signature! A photo posted by MyGolfSpy.com (@mygolfspy) on Jan 17, 2017 at 12:32pm PST The Kirkland ball that was being sold for $15usd per dozen absolutely flew of the shelves. In a $1.5 billion dollar golf ball industry the Costco ball made all the other manufacturers stand top a notice. They will say they weren't nervous about the impact the Kirkland ball would have, but deep down the industry was nervous. 10 Classic John Daly Quotes! Reports from MyGolfSpy say their source inside Costco has not responded to their calls, however, a source familiar with the situation has told us that Coscto has suspended production of the Kirkland Signature until further notice. Whether you want to call it a shortage or a total outage, the lack of Kirkland golf balls available to the consumer is being blamed on supply chain issues. MyGolfSpy were told that, internally, Coscto is saying that production will resume at a later date (and that an email will be sent to customers when stock is available), but MySpyGolf have good reason to believe that is an unlikely scenario. WATCH: Rookie hits 300 yard 3-iron!! The Kirkland ball was made by world renowned golf ball manufacture Nassau Quattro, reports from MyGolfSpy say that Costco (not directly) purchased overruns of Nassau's European-market-exclusive Quattro ball. With Costco selling its version of the Quattro at its cost ($15/dozen), it appears that Nassau is not particularly interested in selling Costco any additional inventory. As you can imagine, there's little interest in allowing Costco to undercut the Quattro with the Quattro, nor is there any desire to see the ball market undercut. So there it is!!! Kirkland Signature ball, the high quality but cheap ball will properly not been seen again. MyGolfSpy is still investigating the final outcome, but I don't like the chances of this cheap, superior ball hitting the Costco shelves again. H/T - MyGolfSpy Picture Credit - MyGolfSpy

Club Member rips in to young golfer!

Club Member rips in to young golfer!

We had this story sent in from Jared* and it was too funny not to share; Hey Golf Gods I'm just starting out in golf and had a interesting run in with a club member last week. It was my first round at a members only club, playing with some mates, and being new to the game there's obviously plenty about etiquette I'm unaware of. As I got my ass handed to me by the lads it was my shout at the bar, I've walked into the club house and ladies comp had been on earlier, and the place was packed with mostly older women. One was at the bar, and as I approached she turned and looked at me, and lost her shit. She ripped into me like I was her 5 year old grandson putting on her makeup or something, the carry on was ridiculous. Turning to the bloke behind the bar asking what the hell was going on he politely explained I needed to remove my hat. I apologized to the old bat but she was too pissed off with me by then, and stormed off. The boys were expecting a reaction and thought it was hilarious, but really, is there any need for someone to speak like that? The club is struggling for members as it is, it's hardly an incentive for me to ever go back! The best part of the whole thing is the hat in question was a titties hat and she had no idea haha! Cheers and hit em straight, Jared* Now Jared's* committed the cardinal sin of wearing a hat inside, but why yell at the bloke, she should of told him that the punishment is shouting the bar and leaving it at that! Kirkland Signature vs Callaway Chrome Soft Ball Review

The golf world has gone crazy over the new Costco Kirkland Signature ball. The volume wholesaler is now in the $1.5 billion golf ball market too and its signature Kirkland ball has been flying off the shelves. The price point was right from the start. The Kirkland Four-Piece Urethane Cover Golf Ball sells for $29.99usd for two dozen, an average of about $1.25usd per ball. By comparison, the best-selling ball in golf -- the Titleist Pro-V1 -- retails for $48usd a dozen, almost $3usd more per ball. Youtube star Rick Shiels has tested the new Kirkland Signature with the Callaway chrome soft which is an absolutely fantastic ball. Check out how both balls preformed below. 10 Classic John Daly Quotes

10 Classic John Daly Quotes

1. I don't think I've ever stepped into a gym - they won't let me smoke there. I just thank God Miller Lite isn't as fattening as most beers. If I cut back on beer, though, I'd look anorexic. 2. There are probably some things I could do to keep my flexibility up, but I'd rather smoke, drink diet Cokes and eat. 3. I enjoy the oohs! and aahs! from the gallery when I hit my drives. But I'm getting pretty tired of the awws! and uhhs! when I miss the putt. 4. I've got the drinkers and the smokers and the eaters on my side. 5. I was never able to have three of four beers. One's too many, and ten just ain't enough. Basically it's the way I've been since high school. 6. Everyone has addictions and my problem is that I have 5,000 of them. If it's not drinking, it's gambling; if it's not gambling, it's eating anything from burgers, doughnuts to M&Ms. The only addiction I don't suffer from is chasing women. 7. I don't workout, I pull out. 8. This fitness thing is blown out of proportion. What am I going to do on a treadmill - smoke a cigarette and drink a diet Coke? 9. Well, it's a tie and jacket and I just don't travel with one, ... You're not going to put a coat and tie on me for dinner. I'm just being honest. Plus, the wives can't go and I'd rather see the wives be able to go instead of just all the guys. That makes it fun. 10. I hit the ball as hard as I can. If I can find it, I hit it again. Python eats whole Wallaby on Golf Course in Australia!

Australia has some of the world most venomous snakes in the world so its not uncommon to see them while playing golf. With Australia going into their summer season, the snakes are out an about. WATCH: John Daly discuss's golfing with Donald Trump! Golfers on the 17th hole at Paradise Palms Resort in Cairns, Queensland came across a 4 metre Python swallowing an entire Wallaby. They stood in disbelief as the 30-minute struggle between reptile and marsupial was spotted on their Saturday morning round. Robert Willemse, who's been a member at the course for almost 10 years, told the Cairns Post the snake got hold of the wallaby's head and rolled into the middle of the fairway on the 17th hole."The python swallowed it and rolled into the creek, then snuck back into the bush. It must have gone for a rest for the next few days," he said. WATCH: Taylormade M1 and M2 Driver Review! For those of you that don't know, the Wallaby is part of the Kangaroo clan but slightly smaller. The average size of a Wallaby is 12 to 41 in (30 to 104 cm). So it's quite a fair effort by the snake to absolutely savage his pray. Image Credit - Cairns Post

Ian Poulter blames cameraman for quadruple-bogey

Ian Poulter blames cameraman for quadruple-bogey

Englishman Ian Poulter has gone from fighting for the lead to barely making the cut during the second round of the Hong Kong Open. Poulter posted a two-under 68 on Thursday and was three under in the second round after three birdies. However at the par 4 15th hole, Poulter lost the plot and shot a quadruple bogey 8 to end his chances of even a top 10 finish. After two failed attempts to get out of the bunker, Poulter's third got back into play but shot across the green and into the fringe before a long range two-putt to complete the hole. WATCH: John Daly talks about golf with Donald Trump & Bill Clinton! After Poulter had finished the hole, he walks directly to the cameraman, points his fingers and says, "next time I'm ready to play my shot, DONT be running behind me!" I really don't think the cameraman made any difference, Poulter was just looking for someone else to blame after his ordinary display out of the bunker. He went on to score a 2 over 72 for the second round, leaving him T49. Watch Poulter lose his shit here....... Image - Screenshot Sky Sports

The worst player on the PGA tour earns nearly half million dollars!

The worst player on the PGA tour earns nearly half million dollars!

The life of a tour pro could be quite stressful at times, but when the worst player on the tour takes home nearly a million dollars, life gets good pretty quick! Aussie Steve Bowditch often makes fun of himself due to his recent bad form on the tour but even for a man that finishes 169th on the money list, he still managed to earn $458,891 ($596,558aud) last season. In 26 total starts in 2015-16, Bowditch failed to break 80 on 12 separate occasions, finishing his season with a cumulative score of 214 over par. That's over double to his closest competitor Brandon Todd with a cumulative score of 75 over par and miss 20 consecutive cuts. WATCH: How to stop topping the ball! Bowditch’s Tour wins in 2014 and '15 earned him spots in the no-cut WGCs that ensure a paycheck. Those three starts alone helped him rake in a cumulative $158,500 ($206,050aud), around 35% of his season earnings. Some of Bowditch best work on Twitter is below. Toss in a 100-foot lap pool, another dive pool, a hybrid tennis/basketball court, guest house, gym, private beach, and two yacht docks. The mustache aficionado will pay something like $14 million for the 6-bed, 9-bath waterfront property which has a par-4 hole where a massive front yard should be. You can tour the house in the video below. Overall, it looks great, but I hope he does something about the clutter in the garage. Hopefully, Fowler can keep up with the house payments. Tiger Woods Still Using Nike Golf Clubs

Tiger Woods Still Using Nike Golf Clubs

With the announcement that Nike are not going to be manufacturing golf clubs anymore, one of the burning questions around Tiger Woods is what club manufacture will he play. I bet his house is full of new golf equipment with every brand scrambling to secure his signature. However, with the withdrawal of Tiger Woods from the start of the new PGA Tour season the Safeway Open at the Silverado Country Club. The question still remains. According to GOLFWRX a Snapchat screenshot was posted by GolfWRX member blblco02 yesterday in their “Tiger’s clubs for Safeway” thread that indicates Woods was likely going to stick to Nike clubs at the Safeway Open. Member blblco02 said the photo was taken at Spyglass Hill, a golf course on the Pebble Beach property where Woods was said to be on Monday. SEE: Golf Ultimate Backyards! When Danny Willett won The Masters in April his brother became almost as well known after tweeting his thoughts on the Sunday, and now he's come out swinging at the USA in an article for National Club Golfer. Some of the highlights include; His description of different golfers; "The Bastards You don’t want them to do anything; the type of student that will plan maliciously and destroy indiscriminately – the type of golfer that is a vice-captain for Team USA." His description of USA golf fans "They (Team Europe) need to silence the pudgy, basement-dwelling, irritants, stuffed on cookie dough and pissy beer, pausing between mouthfuls of hotdog so they can scream ‘Baba booey’ until their jelly faces turn red. They need to stun the angry, unwashed, Make America Great Again swarm, desperately gripping their concealed-carry compensators and belting out a mini-erection inducing ‘mashed potato,’ hoping to impress their cousin." Westwood fires warning shots at the US!

Westwood fires warning shots at the US!

The Ryder Cup is just over a week away and European veteran Lee Westwood has spoken with ESPN UK about the upcoming tournament, firstly raising doubts about the leadership of Davis Love III; "His [Love's] captaincy at Chicago was great for a couple of days," Westwood said, having a dig about Love presiding over the US's car crash in 2012 at Medinah, when the team let a 10-6 lead slip in the singles on the final day. "I don't know if something went wrong on the Sunday, or the team didn't play very well for some reason, but that will be in the back of their minds." he also had a crack at the selection process; "There seem to have been issues about team spirit and chemistry," Said Westwood. "Love has not picked Bubba Watson and I don't know what that does for team spirit -- he was first outside the points qualification and is No.7 in the world." Then questioned Tigers role; "I don't know what impact there will be from having Tiger around," Westwood said. "They [the U.S. team] have always struggled to find a partner for Tiger that's been successful. "He could have an adverse effect in the team room. People have always seemed to try to do too much when they have partnered him. It might be different if he's one of the vice-captains -- you don't know." Team Europe have 6 rookies in the field and will start underdogs, so these mind games wont hurt Europes chances, and they have won 7 of the past 8. Play begins on Sept. 30 Photo - AFP h/t ESPN UK

Rick Shiels Reviews PXG 0811 Driver!

The brand PXG (Bob Parsons Golf) is a relevantly new golf brand to the market, they have pumped a shit load of money into the technology of their clubs, and according to them they have manufactured the best clubs ever available. Fancy that! Billionaire owner Bob Parsons, has made that very clear that he pumped over $400,000usd ($560,000) a year into the technology. The only problem is, the former GoDaddy founder now wants to make his money back and has priced the driver around $700usd (about $1000aud)!! The whole PXG range is completely top of the range in price. You would think having a net worth of over $1.85 billion, that $400,000 is pocket change. Hybrid Swing VS Long Iron Swing

Youtuber Rick Shiels explains the difference in swings required for each club and works outs which club suits your game the best. SPORTS SCIENCE: The Happy Gilmore Shot! The hybrid club has now been around for nearly 20 years and really has helped the golfer with a slower club head speed. Typically the weight is further back and you get a much higher ball flight even with the same loft. The 4 iron with the same amount of loft is much different and requires a greater club head speed. Club head speed is crucial to hit a long iron successfully. WATCH: Bubba Watson Interviews Bubba Watson! Check out the video from Rick below and see which club may be better for improving your game.

The Chipper Putter is back!

The Chipper Putter is back!

The shot that sends weekend golfers crazy is that short chip shot from just off the fringe. Well Odyssey have brought back the old chipper putter, and for anyone that has one in their bag or has tried one will tell you it can be a real shot saver. The chipper category has been dormant in recent years, but it's had several revivals in the last two decades. This is the first from a major company since Odyssey's last introduction about five years ago. Odyssey's new entry into this category is the X-Act Tank chipper—a club the company touts as being designed to function like an “approach putter.” The idea behind the counterbalanced club is to smooth out the chipping stroke in an effort to promote more consistent contact. The head weighs a hefty 355 grams and combined with the SuperStroke chipper grip, provides the counterbalanced feel. The X-Act sole helps prevent the chunked shot, and the Marxman alignment system assists aim. The polymer insert is akin to what you would expect from a putter. The club ($130) comes in lofts of 37 and 46 degrees. So, will your playing partners chuckle when you pull a chipper out of your bag? For those with little or no faith in their ability to not stub or blade the ball on chip shots, a chipper is a viable alternative that could leave you the one laughing when the ball stops near the hole. His first eagle in round 1 on hole 14 was good but his second in round 3 on hole 5 was even better. With a total of only 9 eagles for the tournament so far, Westwood is doing pretty good to have two of them. Mic catches interesting conversation between Jordan Spieth and Caddie!

Its not often you get to listen into the a player and caddie conversation, especially when its mid way through a major. However the mics picked up an interesting conversation between last year U.S. Open winner Jordan Spieth and his caddie Michael Greller. "He's (Dustin Johnson) hitting 9 iron in"@JordanSpieth needs a little more club into No. 9. @DeloitteUS #LookAgainhttps://t.co/VyqjF4Tmr3 — FOX Sports (@FOXSports) June 18, 2016 The exchange went like this; Spieth: "Where do you want this ball? Just directly at it?"Greller: "Yeah."What, golf isn't that simple for you?-- It's nice to see that even other PGA Tour players are blown away by how far Dustin Johnson projects a golf ball.-- When Spieth knocks his approach shot on the ninth green and waits for applause, he clearly thought the shot was better than it was."I got no claps for that," he said, before accepting, "Must be pretty far back."It was exactly that, Spieth's ball ended up 70 add feet above the hole, and he then 3 putted for bogey.

$4.7 million worth of drugs found in golf club shafts!

When you see an article about golf and cocaine, it will normally has Dustin Johnson's name smeared all over it, due to an extended lay off in 2013 which a lot of people suggest was cocaine related. But this time it has nothing to do with him. Two drug smugglers were facing jail today after posing as golfers to flood the UK with millions of dollars of cocaine hidden in the shafts of their clubs. Between 2012 and 2014 Tony Bayne, 52 and Taher Najmzadeh, 53, were recruited to fly overseas with golf bags as part of their luggage. The pair received cash and holidays in return for smuggling drugs.According to the Evening Standard in the UK, police seized just under 17kg of cocaine which has an estimated worth of more than $4.7 million USD ($5.8 million AUD). So in saying that, the boys from Braille Skateboards created a new set of skateboard wheels using four golf balls. They grabbed a set of Wilson Ultra 500 balls, drilled out the inner section and fitted some bearing and attached to the skateboard axle. As strange as it sounds it actually quite cool.

Tony Finau's ball spins from back edge of green off the front edge!

Big hitting American Tony Finau might not have had the best first round in the 166th U.S. Open Championship shooting and 72 and his second round didn't get much better. Having 3 consecutive bogeys in the first 5 holes on Friday, leaving in T73 at +5 after 5 holes. On the second hole par 4, his second shot was a 100+ yard wedge shot that landed right on the back of the green. With the enormous spin he generated in the shot and the super slick Oakmont greens the ball spun from the back edge and the way past the pin and off the front edge of the green. This pretty much summed up how things were going for him. 22 year old American, Bryson Dechambeau may not have lit the Oakmont course on fire with 2 double bogeys in his opening 11 holes before the rain delay, but he did have what we call Divot of the day! One of Dechambeau's iron shots on the opening day of the 116th U.S. Open Championship had a divot that any golfer would be proud of. His divot had better shape than the majority of average golfers actual shots. When seen in slow-mo, the divot is absolutely mesmerizing. Little did they know that a very proud Golf Gods fan David Hall was slapping his Titties hat right in Rickie Fowler's face. After the post was up for about 50 minutes and the majority of the comments tagging Golf Gods and pointing out the Golf Gods Titties hat Cobra decided to delete the post. What we thought was hilarious obviously Cobra didn't think the same! Having the post deleted by them was even funnier! Best Drivers of 2016

With so many golf club manufacturers now around, it is extremely hard to determine which brand will be best suited for yourself. I always say that the best method of choosing a particular club is go based on feel. If it feels right, buy it! Don't buy it just because your favourite pro uses it or because you just like the colour. Buy the one that feels the best, normally if it feels good, it will because you will be hitting it well. Youtube leader Rick Shiels has put together his top 10 drivers of 2016. The list is strictly his thoughts and views only and may not be best suited to you. The list includes all the major brands like Callaway, Nike, Titleist, Taylormade and Puma but also includes some great drivers from brands you may not have heard of before like UK brand Ben Ross. Golfers go crazy over air horn prank!

Youtube channel JOOGSQUAD has over 1.3 million subscribers and have been pranking golfers over and over again for years. Their air horn pranks dressed in Ghillie suits send golfers crazy! The funniest thing about the JOOGSQUAD is that the more likes they get on their videos, the more times they go and prank golfers! It just doesn't stop at Ghillie suits and air horns. In one of their other videos they hit exploding golf balls at people which actually scares the shit out of nearly all of them. Except the one guy that attacks and throws his club in the water. This is nearly as funny as the prank itself and must watch. SEE HOW JORDAN SPIETH EANRS MORE MONEY THAN STEPH CURRY! CLICK TO SEE MORE OF THE JOOGSQUAD BOYS.

There is a girl over there that I really want to bang from behind!" is always going to get some classic reactions. VIDEO: Fat kid gets bullied on golf course! Poor fat kid gets bullied on golf course

Poor fat kid gets bullied on golf course

Here is a fact. Everything funny is especially funnier/worse when you’re fat. Like if the skinny kid gets pushed backwards and falls over with his clubs I’m not even sure I blog it. But when a fat kid does it it’s internet gold. Also love when he’s like “You want to throw punches? You want to throw punches?” And his buddy just nails him in the temple with a right cross. I guess that’s a yes? PS – Trying to make somebody go back and tee off is such a dick move. Very unfatkidlike. Source - Barstool

Paulina Gretzky everybody's favourite golf WAG now has Snapchat

Paulina Gretzky everybody's favourite golf WAG now has Snapchat

BEST NEWS EVER. Everybody’s favorite famous hockey daughter/golfer wife has joined the wonderful world of Snapchat. Now I’m not gonna lie, these first series of snaps were a little underwhelming. We’ve got a few selfies, her doing the dog face thing with Rickie Fowler and her riding in the car. Not exactly the kind of earth shattering/boner-inducing stuff you’d expect from Paulina but just you wait. Oh just you wait. We’re still in the early stages of this thing. She’s doing what every other person new to snapchat does. She’s having fun with the filter that turns you into a dog, she’s hanging out with Rickie and Dustin and it’s all fun and games. At a certain point she will get bored and be like, “Alright let’s give the people what they want” and it’ll be pictures of her in swimsuits hanging by the pool. It is going to happen. All I’m saying is don’t let these first snaps deter you from what I can only imagine is going to turn into the best Snapchat account in the world. WATCH: Steph Curry and Lydia Ko putting contest!! There’s also the strong possibility that she accidentally puts a nudie snap meant for DJ on her snap story. I’d actually venture to guess that happens sooner than later. Don’t be the idiot that misses it. Her snap name is paulina_jean!! Source - Barstool Sports

Victor Dubuisson loses his shit at Doral

Golf is crazy hard, but it's not too often you see the pros lose their shit. Frenchman Victor Dubuisson produced one of craziest on-course meltdowns seen in recent years during the final round of the WGC Cadillac Championship on Monday. RICKIE FOWLER: Makes $1 Million hole-in-one! The world No.39 — usually known for his coolness and calmness under pressure — lost the plot as he destroyed one club, attacked his bag with another, threw a ball and even took aim at himself. Dubuisson's meltdown start with throwing his ball into the Doral water trap, he then took three swings at this bag with his club. He was still not finished yet, he went back for one more kick of the bag. All while his caddy stood there and let him explode. There was no way he way saying anything!! Source - Fox Sports

Pro golfer shoots 37 over par and still collects $48,000 ($65,000aud)

Aussie Steven Bowditch tapped in for par to end his week at the Cadillac Championship, then walked off the 18th green with a smile as those in the grandstand applauded his effort. There were four people clapping.''Hey, it's just golf,'' Bowditch said with a shrug. NASCAR star replicates hole 12 of Augusta in backyard!Bad golf, but golf nonetheless. Bowditch shot 84 on Sunday in his final round at Doral, his fourth straight round in the 80s. He was 37 over for the week, his 72-hole score of 325 the highest ever recorded in a World Golf Championships event. His score was so bad that a young volunteer who was tasked with following Bowditch around with a portable scoreboard was told not to post any numbers, and no one questioned that logic.''I think there was four dozen golf balls at the start of the week in my locker,'' Bowditch said. ''And I'm down to my last one.'' ''I shot 37 over par and still made a paycheck,'' Bowditch said. ''All's not that bad.''Not a bad paycheck, either. He'll earn $48,000 ($65,000), despite being the first player to shoot four rounds of 80 or more in a PGA Tour event, officials said, since Mike Dunaway posted four consecutive 81s in the 1983 Panasonic Las Vegas Pro-Celebrity Classic - a five-round event. The previous high score in a WGC stroke-play event was 323, by Huang Ming-jie at Shanghai in 2013. Source: Golf Channel/Golf.com

He has played Augusta before (he shot low 90s) and supported his buddy Scott Harvey last year."It's just amazing here," Harvick said about Augusta National and the Masters on his website. Hole-In-One costs man £3000!!!

Hole-In-One costs man £3000!!!

A golfer who won a car by hitting a hole-in-one at a charity event has been left thousands of pounds in debt after losing a bitter legal battle over his prize. Jake Warner, 24, was elated when he struck a 202-yard hole-in-one during the $20 AUD-a-head event (£10) He posed for a quick snap with what he thought was his prize, a brand new five door 1.6TDi Vauxhall Corsa worth £14,000 ($26,780 AUD) adorned with the slogan: "Win this car if you get a hole-in-one." BUBBA WATSON: Drives par-4 green at Blue Monster! But when he went to collect the vehicle a few days later he found that the golf club was offering him a basic £6,500 ($12,430 AUD) 1.0 Corsa model instead. The dad-of-one refused to accept the inferior car or an alternative offer of £7,000 ($13,390 AUD) cash and took the club to court. However, he lost the case due to a 'legal loophole'.Jake said: "It has all been a bit of a nightmare."I got lucky and hit a hole in one, it's the first one I'd ever hit and I couldn't believe it when it landed on the green."I was elated on the day and then I was devastated when I found out I wasn't going to have the car they'd advertised."In hindsight, I wish I had just accepted the money. It would have been a lot easier than going through a long legal fight."Jake refused to accept the car or the cash and took Haverhill Golf Club in Suffolk to court. The judge ordered that the Jake was given a new car or cash of an equivalent value and he accepted £7,500 ($14,345 AUD)But because he lost the case Jake was ordered to pay the golf club's legal bill of £4,000 ($7650 AUD) plus his own of £6,000 ($11,475 AUD).This left him in £3,200 ($6120 AUD) worth of debt and forced him to re mortgage his house to pay for his wedding to fiancée Kirsty Dolby, 25.
