After Sundays epic showdown with Rory McIlroy in the final round of the Tour Championship at East Lake, Davis Love III has gone with the "hot-hand" selection of Ryan Moore, who will be the second rookie in the USA squad along with Brooks Koepka.
Moore finished tied with McIlroy and Kevin Chappell at -12, Chappell was eliminated in the first play off hole, but McIlroy and Moore slugged it out for 3 more holes before Rory took the Tour Championship with a 14-footer at the par-4 16th for birdie, moments after Moore drained a clutch 20-footer for par.
Moore's had a win and 3 top 10 finishes in his last 6 starts and Team USA are hoping his form continues, they going for their first Ryder Cup since 2008 and third since 1999.
